About Us

Daryl started making sculptures when he was twelve years old. Some of his first sculptures were a helicopter and an airplane. After that life got busy and Daryl didn't do much art work for a long time. During this busy time Daryl and his daughter started rock hounding and developed a love for all kinds of rocks, gems, and fossils. They have gone on many rock hunting expeditions and have gathered many beautiful and interesting rocks. At one point Daryl acquired a rock saw and started a beautiful collection of cut stone.

Daryl has always had a love for biking. In 2008, when one of Daryl's biking buddies got married, he decided to build a sculpture depicting her falling of her bike as she was looking at the wildflowers. He combined his rock cutting hobby with his long forgotten art skill and, using an acetylene torch, he created a wedding present for her. It was so much fun that he made more and even started selling some of them.

Today Daryl has created all kinds of art and hopes that you enjoy it as much as he has had fun creating it. If any of his work interests you, or if you have an idea of your own, please contact him and he will see if he can make it happen.

The Sculpture Process

Step 1
A rock is selected. The rock may not look great at first, but it is what is inside that counts.

Step 2
Next the rock is placed in the rock saw and cut to the desired shape.

Step 3
The rock is then smoothed and polished by hand with a diamond stone.

Step 4
The bike or other sculpture is then welded.

Step 5
Next a clay model is created.

Step 6
The clay model is cast in bronze then silver soldered to the bike.

Step 7
The bronze is the checked for fit on the stone.

Step 8
The bronze is then colored with a patina and attached to the stone for a finished product.
